Mapa Enterprises was started out of passion and mainly delivering goods and services to family and friends; over time, the referrals and circles increased from friend to friend and from family to family. Before we could know much about businesses, we were on the streets, in offices, supermarkets, shops, and several homes. At this time all our work was done between the Kitchen, garden, and garage using mainly family labor.
We later realized that we needed to recruit other human resources from transport, packaging, quality, and standard assurance. Mapa Enterprises has been able to train and mentor over 200 women and girls in agri business, customer care, marketing, food safety, and standards.
Mapa has intentionally recruited and provided decent employment to the urban poor mainly women, and girls from the slums within her neighborhood, and the rural poor; particularly elderly women and girls who have dropped out of school. This in turn has provided their household with a decent income to meet their basic needs of a decent meal, clothing, education, and better health especially the ones on antiretroviral therapy. Mapa enterprises purchase their raw materials from small holder farmers who are mainly women from very vulnerable households and are given first priority.

This has reduced the rate of domestic violence in their households and high dependency on men for survival; children are able to attend school hence reducing vulnerability. Despite all the challenges Mapa enterprises Limited has faced due to COVID-19 and climate change, we are still in business and we know that we shall be able to expand and grow from one level to another. We want to thank all our clients and partners that have seen what has grown this far, and we look forward to further growth.
